Different types of healing? What’s out there?
Individual to relational to collective. A high-level map for thinking about different categories of healing
Healing comes in many forms. Often, a lot of us have a felt sense of what healing is, more than a working definition. We know it when we see it.
And then when it comes to collective healing, this felt-sense-knowing is taken to a whole new level. When the concept of collective healing first came across my radar, it was something I felt more than had a concrete definition for. It had an electric quality to it that pulled me in and beckoned me to help give it shape.
In my last several pieces, I made the case for why collective healing is needed and what it offers the times we live in. Zooming out to this larger question of “what is healing?”, I want to share clips from a new blog on my website about different types of healing.
You can think of this as a high-level map that charts out the wider terrain of healing that’s out there. It’s far from exhaustive, but I hope offers a starting point for you to organize your thinking about the different types of healing that exist.
Without further ado! Different types of healing—individual, relational & collective.
