Hey,
With the election around the corner, I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t put personal juice into the Harris campaign.
Tuesday & Thursday of next week I’ll be phone banking with a few friends. Any interest in joining? It’s easy to sign up and there’s a step-by-step script you use for the calls so it’s pretty low key (as low key as cold calling strangers about politics can be, that is 😅 🙃).
But it’ll be fun because we’ll do it together! Set up a group chat to cheers tea cups and glasses of wine in between calls. I’m down to also hop on a zoom call before or after to do a little grounding practice or debrief or have some belly laughs if there’s interest too.
Send me a message or email to coordinate!
Tues, Oct 1st 7:00-9:00pm EST
Thurs, Oct 3rd 6:00-8:00pm EST
With love,
Liz
P.S. I know this election is a doozy and there are many out there, and probably on this list serve, who don’t like either candidates, as well as some here who are voting Trump. I strive to be politically inclusive in my work—it’s been a personal project of mine in recent years—so please know, if this is you, I see you and hope you feel welcomed here. As cheesy-cliche as it sounds, I hold a vision of community for my work where multitudes exist and belong, so please know that’s my intention, even in the face of me campaigning for a specific candidate.
P.P.S. If you’re interested in talking about this election, hit me up! I’m quite politically eclectic and am always down to have interesting, good faith convos.
Resources for this election
Here are some things I’ve found helpful:
Trump vs Harris on the issues from Tangle
“A side-by-side comparison of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris on the economy, immigration, healthcare, abortion, crime, the environment, guns, and foreign policy.
We won’t be endorsing or criticizing either candidate’s positions, either. Instead, this piece aims to give you a neutral and organized breakdown of what Trump and Harris have promised in the past, what they’ve done in office, and what they are promising to do as we head into 2025.”
The Republicans Voting for Kamala from the Free Press
This episode is great, especially for making a case for Harris to center-right undecided voters. It’s one thing to hear why left-leaning folks are voting for her, but it’s another to hear it from lifelong Republicans.
“David French, evangelical, pro-life conservative; staff writer at National Review, a senior editor at The Dispatch, and now he’s an opinion columnist for The New York Times.
Sarah Longwell, political strategist and founder of Republicans Against Trump (now called the Republican Accountability Project). She’s also the founder and publisher of the Never Trump opinion website, The Bulwark.”
Braver Angels workshops & courses
I just love the work this org does. Free courses and workshops like Disagreeing Better, Depolarizing Within, Skills for Bridging the Divide, Race and Public Policy, and more.
If you’re looking for some interpersonal, politically-specific tools for this election season, I’d recommend checking out what they offer.
