Yea, part of this whole narrative exploration for me (progress v collapse) is tied to a question around what motivates pro-social behavior (for lack of less clinical words). I know for me it has ebbed and flowed throughout my life. I've come across people who are adamant that collapse-awareness debilitates people and others who believe acknowledging progress debilitates people. I'm of the mind that it all depends on the person or point in life (in my case). Glad this piece helped!
